Randy Couture vs James Toney -- UFC 118 -- Heavyweight Bout

42-year-old former boxing champion James Toney makes his MMA debut vs 47-year-old UFC Hall-of-Famer and 5-time UFC champion Randy Couture tonight. This bout will be a stark contrast in styles as Toney insists he will be able to knock Couture out with superior boxing while Couture is sure he will be able to take Toney down with his wrestling. Couture was a 3-time All-American wrestler at Oklahoma St and a 4-time Olympic alternate. Couture will tie Matt Hughes and Chuck Liddell for the most bouts in UFC history with 23. A Couture win would tie him for 2nd in all-time UFC wins and better his record as the oldest fighter ever to win a UFC bout.

Frankie Edgar vs B.J. Penn (for Edgar’s lightweight title)

BJ Penn looks to win a UFC title for the 3rd time in his career, which would put him with Hall-of-Famer Randy Couture as the only fighters in UFC history to win more than two titles. 10 of Penn’s previous 17 UFC bouts have had a title at stake. Edgar has won 4 straight bouts and is 12-1 in his MMA career (7-1 in the UFC). Penn claimed he would end the bout with a KO or submission but Edgar has never been finished in his career.
