Michigan State Scores Winning TD on Fake FG in Overtime

Michigan State gambled on a play called "Little Giants" and won Saturday, defeating Notre Dame. Aaron Bates threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Charlie Gantt on a fake field goal in overtime, giving the Spartans a 34-31 victory over the Irish.

Sabathia Defeats O's For Win #20

The third time was indeed the charm for CC Sabathia. The Yankees ace became the first MLB pitcher to 20 wins this season after an 11-3 victory against the Orioles Saturday. Sabathia lasted seven innings while allowing seven hits and three runs in the win.

Ingram Shines in Season Debut

Alabama RB Mark Ingram appears to be healthy. The Heisman Trophy winner rushed for 151 yards and 2 TDs in Alabama's 62-13 win against Duke Saturday. Ingram practiced all week for the top-ranked Crimson Tide after missing the first two games following arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

Texas High School QB Collapses on Sideline, Dies

West Orange-Stark's football team is mourning the loss of its quarterback. Senior Reggie Garrett died at the Beaumont hospital about 9:30 p.m. Friday. Garrett collapsed on the sideline during the second quarter shortly after throwing his second touchdown of the game against Jasper. According to Memorial Hermann Baptist-Orange Hospital spokeswoman Mary Poole, the cause of death has not been determined, and an autopsy has been ordered.

No. 24 Arizona Stuns No. 9 Iowa

The Wildcats struck early and held on late to defeat No. 9 Iowa 34-27. Arizona's Nick Foles completed 28 of 39 passes for 303 yards and 2 TDs in the win. The Arizona win was punctuated by four straight sacks of Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi late in the fourth quarter.

Eagles Keep Kolb and Bradley Home

According to a team official, neither QB Kevin Kolb nor LB Stewart Bradley will be available for the Eagles Sunday in Detroit. Both players will continue their rehab and evaluations after suffering concussions in last Sunday's loss to the Packers. Eagles QB Michael Vick will make his first NFL start since 2006, against the Lions Sunday (1:00 PM ET, FOX).

Tulowitzki's 2 HRs Lifts Rockies

Troy Tulowitzki's hot bat continued Saturday. Tulowitzki hit two more home runs -- tying a modern major league record with 14 in a 15-game stretch -- and the Rockies kept their playoff push alive by slamming the Los Angeles Dodgers 12-2 for their 20th win in 26 games.

Michigan Holds on as Denard Robinson Accounts For 345 yards, 3 TDs

The Heisman hype continues in Ann Arbor. Michigan QB Denard Robinson accounted for 345 yards and three TDs, helping Michigan defeat UMass 42-37 on Saturday.

Shane Mosley, Sergio Mora Fight to a Draw

And the winner is.....nobody. Sugar Shane Mosley and Sergio Mora fought to a twelve-round draw in Saturday's junior middleweight bout. Mosley landed 124 punches to Mora's 66. Judge Kermit Bayless called the fight 115-113 for Mora, David Denkin gave Mosley a 116-112 edge, and Lou Moret scored the bout even at 114-114.

Ilya Kovalchuk Moves to Other Wing

Ilya Kovalchuk not only has a new $100-million contract, the Russian superstar has a new position. During the New Jersey Devils' first practice of the season, new coach John MacLean moved the 27-year-old All-Star from left wing to right wing, playing him with Zach Parise and Travis Zajac on what could be a high-scoring line.
