Florida QB Tim Tebow became the 20th winner of the William V. Campbell Trophy. The Campbell Trophy recognizes the player who exhibits the best combination of academic success, football performance, and community leadership. Tebow will receive a bronze trophy as well as a $25,000 post-graduate scholarship. He becomes the 3rd Gator to win the award, joining Brad Culpepper (1991) and Danny Weurffel (1996).

Alabama LB Rolando McClain has won the Butkus Award as the nation's top LB. McClain, a junior, led the #1 ranked Alabama defense to an SEC Championship and a spot in the BCS national title game. He finished the regular season with 101 tackles, 4 sacks, and 2 int. McClain joins Derrick Thomas (1988) as the only two Crimson Tide linebackers to win the award.

Cowboys OT Flozell Adams avoided a suspension but not a fine for his late hit on New York Giants DE Justin Tuck Sunday. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports Adams will face a $50,000 fine, his fourth fine this season, for the personal foul. As the half ended, Adams came up behind an unsuspecting Tuck and shoved him to the ground. When the teams met in week 2, Adams tripped Tuck causing him to injure his shoulder and sit out the rest of the game. That week he was fined $12,500.
