Private meeting: On the heels of a miserable performance, there were no excuses to be made and no fingers were pointed anywhere but directly in the mirror. As soon as the team assembled in the visiting locker room, the Rams held a players- and coaches-only meeting to discuss how to rebound from Sunday’s debacle.
“Those things are between coaches and players but we have got to stick together,” end Chris Long said. “Nobody is going to come in here and save the day. It’s on us to change things. Things don’t just change on their own.”
Running without Richardson: Running back Daryl Richardson had his foot in a walking boot on Wednesday but practiced Thursday and Friday and looked to be good to go Sunday.
Richardson started the game but aggravated the injury and came out very early.
“I re-injured my foot,” Richardson said. “I believe it got stepped on when I was trying to go out for my route early in the game.”
Hayes on crutches: A more glaring injury was the knee ailment that caused defensive end William Hayes to leave the game in the second quarter.
Hayes left the locker room with a wrap and brace on his right knee and with the help of crutches. His status moving forward will be determined later.
