EARTH CITY, Mo. -- St. Louis Rams starting running back Zac Stacy returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's workout with what was called a chest injury.

Saffold
That didn't come as much of a surprise given that coach Jeff Fisher indicated the injury wasn't serious. Perhaps a bit more surprising was the return of right tackle Rodger Saffold to the mix as he works his way back from a knee injury. Stacy and Saffold are officially listed as limited on the injury report.

Starting with Stacy, it seems there's a familiar pattern to how the weeks go by for whoever is the designated starting back. Miss practice Wednesday, raise a few eyebrows and then return to practice Thursday as though nothing ever happened. Daryl Richardson cut the path a couple of times earlier this season and now Stacy has successfully followed suit.

Stacy
Stacy said after the workout that he's doing just fine.

"Yes sir, (I'm) just running out here getting some great looks out in practice, just working on techniques and hopefully it will carry over to the game," Stacy said.

Saffold's participation was a welcome sight for all parties as the right tackle hasn't played since suffering the knee injury against Atlanta on Sept. 15. He did some individual work and played some on scout team, but said his mission for right now is just settling back in.

"It’s cool to be out there and play with the guys again," Saffold said. "It was definitely tough not playing with the O-line but I know I’ve got to shake a bunch of rust off, get back into the groove."

There's no timetable for Saffold's return but it seems unlikely it will come this week.

Here's the full rundown for Thursday's injury report:

Did not participate: CB Cortland Finnegan (thigh)
Limited participation: Stacy, Saffold, DE William Hayes (knee)
Full participation: DT Matt Conrath

Houston is dealing with a laundry list of injuries, adding tackle Ryan Harris (elbow) to Thursday's report. Harris' addition brings the Texans' total to an even 20 on the injury report. Receiver Andre Johnson (shin) is the biggest name among those not practicing for Houston. Tackle Duane Brown (toe), running back Arian Foster (thumb/chest) and safety Ed Reed (knee) are among the key players listed as limited.
