EARTH CITY, Mo -- St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher joined "Mike & Mike" this morning for about five minutes, talking through a variety of issues from what he expects from Carolina's Cam Newton this weekend to thoughts on the next coach at USC, his alma mater.
Fisher is a member of the league's competition committee and also offered some insight on some discussions regarding player safety and illegal hits that may occur after the season.
We've discussed it multiple times in this space but when posed a question about who he'd like to see hired as the next head coach at USC, Fisher made it clear he actually hasn't paid much attention to what's taken place in Los Angeles. He did say he expects athletic director Pat Haden, a former Ram himself, to make a good choice. It remains clear that choice won't be Fisher.
