We're back to Mondays for the recruiting roundup. A look at what happened in the world of Stanford recruiting over the past week.
A couple of links just about the verbal commitment from Barry J. Sanders:
Apparently a foot injury is what united Sanders and Stanford.
Sanders makes his official announcement.
Other players that are (were) on Stanford's radar.
You can't win them all. ESPNU 150 prospect Ifeadi Odenigbo picked Northwestern over Notre Dame and Stanford, writes ESPN.com's Jared Shanker.
Offensive lineman Colby Cyburt (Mission Viejo, Calif.) is set to visit Stanford next week, and it sounds like it's down to the Cardinal and UCLA, writes ESPN.com's Greg Biggins.
Here's what Cyburt told Biggins:
"I could possibly hear back [soon] if I'm cleared. They have four offensive line commits and said they want six total in the class. They told me they would take me regardless though, even if they fill up and they have to, they'll use a tight end spot for me.
"UCLA and Stanford are my top two so it will be cool to compare the schools to each other back to back. Stanford is an incredible place but if there's any school that can compare with Stanford, it's probably UCLA. They have a lot of similarities so this should be fun. I still have Colorado planned for the weekend after Stanford and I'm still planning on taking that visit, too."
According to Erik McKinney, Stanford commit Noor Davis was doing his best to sway Andrus Peat.
News and notes on players who have already committed to Stanford.
Nice, I'm sure, for Stanford fans to see Sanders' name in this part of the roundup. Here's a recap of his performance in the U.S. Army All-America Bowl.
Jordan Watkins (College Park, Ga.) might be taking an unofficial visit this weekend.
Graham Shuler (Brentwood, Tenn.) was recently named an SI high school player of the week.
Blake Martinez (Canyon Del Oro, Ariz.) was recently honored as one of the top 25 Arizona Football Coaches Association players.
