Stanford tight end Zach Ertz was honored as the John Mackey Tight End of the Week for his performance in Stanford's 21-14 win over USC on Saturday.

Ertz caught three balls for 71 yards, including the game-winner, a 37-yard touchdown strike from Josh Nunes with 10:20 as won its Stanford's fourth straight over the Trojans.

He also turned in a solid blocking performance -- particularly in the fourth quarter when the Cardinal were able to eat away at the clock and protect the one-score lead.

It's the second straight year a Stanford player has been honored. Last year, Coby Fleener also picked up the weekly award.

The No. 9 Cardinal are on bye this week before heading up to Seattle to face Washington next Thursday night on ESPN. It will be Stanford's first road game of the season after notching home victories over San Jose State, Duke and the Trojans, who were ranked second nationally at the time.
