Oregon moves up to No. 2 in AP poll

September, 3, 2013
It was only Nicholls State, but Oregon's performance against the FCS weakling pushed it past Ohio State in the AP poll on Tuesday.

The Ducks moved up to No. 2 behind Alabama, while the Buckeyes lackluster performance against Buffalo dropped them to No. 3.

Ohio State maintained its No. 2 ranking ahead of the No. 3 Ducks in the coaches' poll, which counts in BCS standings, as the AP poll does not.

Stanford, which was off last weekend, was No. 5 in the AP poll and No. 4 in the coaches' poll.

After walloping formally No. 19 Boise State 38-6, Washington jumped into the AP poll at No. 20 and the coaches' poll at No. 23.

UCLA was No. 18 in the AP poll and coaches' poll. USC was 25th in the AP poll and 22nd with the coaches.

Arizona State was the equivalent of No. 28 in the AP poll and No. 31 with the coaches. Arizona received votes in both polls.
