Here are the players who stood out in Stanford's 31-28 win over Washington.

WR Ty Montgomery did it all for Stanford. He returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, another kick 68 yards to set up a Stanford score and hauled in a 39-yard touchdown pass. He finished with 290 all-purpose yards.

LB Shayne Skov finished with 14 tackles and 1.5 sacks to lead the defense on a night it struggled and surrendered 139 yards rushing and 350 through the air. Without Skov making plays all night, those numbers would have looked much worse.

LB Trent Murphy showed why he is a strong All-American candidate. He made six tackles, had two sacks and tipped a Keith Price pass deep in Stanford territory that was picked off by A.J. Tarpley.
