Here are three Cardinal who earned some recognition in Saturday's 27-21 loss to Utah.
WR Ty Montgomery: For the second straight week, Montgomery returned a kickoff for a touchdown. His 100-yard return tied the school record. In the fourth quarter, Montgomery again proved to be one of the Cardinal’s biggest playmakers with several key catches as Stanford mounted a comeback attempt. He finished with eight catches for 131 yards -- both are career highs.
RB Tyler Gaffney: Gaffney quietly had a big night, rushing for 108 yards on 16 carries and a score. His 1-yards touchdown run came on the Cardinal's opening drive.
LB Shayne Skov: Skov made nine tackles, two for loss and registered a pass breakup. The Cardinal was short on big plays from its defense, which struggled to get off the field and allowed a 99-yard touchdown drive.
