Andre Drummond: a long shot to make such a long shot

For one shining moment, Andre Drummond was Stephen Curry.

The Detroit Pistons center is best known for rebounds and dunks, but on Monday, he made himself memorable for long distance accuracy.

Drummond made a 71-footer, the NBA's longest shot of the season, to end the third quarter in an eventual loss to the Raptors.

The last player to make a shot from that distance was Jose Calderon, who made a 71-footer in 2008. The last player to make an even longer shot was LeBron James, who made an 82-footer in 2007.

The NBA record for longest shot belongs to Baron Davis, who made one from 89 feet against the Bucks while with Charlotte in 2001.

Drummond was 2-for-22 on shots from 15 feet or beyond in his career entering Monday night. He was 11-for-81 on shots 10 feet or longer.

The sum of Drummond's three other field goals made in this game ... one foot (two dunks and a layup).
