Wednesday marks the 54th anniversary of Wilt Chamberlain's record-setting 100-point game against the Knicks.
We take a look at the historical context behind his accomplishment.
In the game, Chamberlain's Warriors defeated the Knicks, 169-147. It was the sixth-highest scoring game in NBA history. Along with the 50.4 points per game he scored in 1961-62, Chamberlain averaged 25.7 rebounds per game. There has been one game of 50 points and 25 rebounds in the past 32 years (Chris Webber in 2001).
