The Jaguars defense shut down Joe Flacco in a 12-7 victory Monday night.
So far this season, the Ravens had outscored their opponents 59-7 in the first quarter. The +52 point differential was tops in the NFL. They also were averaging 19 points per game in the first half. The Jaguars scored the only three points in the first quarter on their way to a 6-0 halftime lead.
The Ravens did not pick up a first down until there was 5:29 remaining in the third quarter. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the nine drives before moving the chains was a record for both the Ravens offense and Jaguars defense.
At halftime, Baltimore had gained just 16 yards of net offense while racking up 40 penalty yards. The 1 net passing yard in the first half was the fewest in franchise history.
Highest Percent of Overthrown Incompletions
Single Game, Since 2008
Joe Flacco had 17 incompletions Monday night, 12 of which were overthrown. In the last four seasons, only Kerry Collins had a greater percentage of overthrown incompletions. The most overthrows in a single game since 2008 is 14, shared by Flacco and Chad Henne of the Dolphins.
Entering the game, Jacksonville’s defense had given up eight pass plays of 30-plus yards, third worst in the NFL. Flacco’s longest completion on Monday was 20 yards, and 15 of his 21 completions resulted in gains of less than 10 yards.

Kicker Josh Scobee provided all the points the Jaguars would need. He connected on a career-high three field goals of at least 50 yards. He only made two such field goals all of last season. He was the second kicker this year to make three 50-yarders in one game, matching Sebastian Janikowski in Week 5 against the Texans.
