Michael Vick has been under pressure throughout the season, and Sunday's game against the Cardinals was no exception.
Vick has missed a total of 17 games due to injury in his career. The last time Vick missed a game because of any injury was in Weeks 5-7 of 2010, when he missed three games after suffering a rib injury in Week 4 against the Washington Redskins.
Vick has been in the injury report on Friday three times this season, but has played in each game. He was questionable with a concussion in Week 3 before nursing a right hand injury in Week 4 and a left finger injury in Week 5.
Vick has been sacked seven times in the last three weeks, tied for the eighth most in the NFL over that span. While he has only been sacked 15 times this season, his ability to elude pressure has helped keep the figure down. Vick has the most scrambles of any player this season.
The Philadelphia Eagles began the season with just one opening-day starter from 2010 manning the same spot on the offensive line. They have had trouble keeping the same offensive line on the field this season – eight different players have started on the O-line and only center Jason Kelce has started every game.
The turnover on the offensive line has led to regular collisions between Vick and the opposing defense. Vick is one of four NFL that has been either sacked, hit while throwing or under duress at least 100 times this season.
The punishment Vick takes throughout the game could help explain the Eagles struggles in the 4th quarter this season. Philadelphia has blown a franchise-record five 4th-quarter leads this season and have an NFL-worst minus-47 point differential while scoring just 27 of their 220 points in the final 15 minutes.
