Given the success quarterbacks have had running the ball in Rich Rodriguez's spread offense over the years, the 197 rushing yards by Michigan Wolverines' QB Denard Robinson on Saturday against the Connecticut Huskies probably wasn't a huge surprise. What should've been a surprise is the 29 carries Robinson had to accumulate that yardage.

Not only is that an extremely high number of rushes for a QB, but it's two more than Pat White ever had in a game while playing for Rodriguez at West Virginia, and four more than Woodrow Dantzler ever had in a game when Rodriguez was coordinating the Clemson offense.

Robinson was the designated ball carrier on 20 of those 29 carries and took the option to run on the other nine.

Weekend Recap:
• The ranked team that allowed the most points? USC, which allowed 36 to Hawaii.

• Only one ranked team lost to an unranked team: No. 15 Pittsburgh lost at Utah in overtime, 27-24.

• The top two teams in the AP Poll, Alabama and Ohio State, won their opening games by a combined score of 93-10. Neither team's defense allowed a TD (the only TD was scored by Marshall on a blocked Ohio State field goal attempt).

• Nebraska won its 25th straight season opener, the longest active streak in the country. They've scored at least 47 points in each of their last five openers, and won by an average of 37.8 points.

• LSU extended its win streak against ACC opponents to 19 games with its win over North Carolina. That’s the longest streak against the ACC in history. LSU has also won 30 straight non-conference regular-season games, which is the longest active streak in FBS.
