Vick starts Eagles' QB controversy?
Philadelphia Eagles' head coach Andy Reid has already said that, barring any complications, Kevin Kolb will start next week at quarterback for the Eagles against the Jacksonville Jaguars. if that's the case, then look at how impressive Vick was in his first start since Week 17 of the 2006 season.
He completed 21-of-34 passes for 284 yards in the Eagles' 35-32 win over the Detroit Lions. It was the fifth-most passing yards in a game in Vick's career. What's more, this was the 17th game Vick attempted at least 30 passes, but just the fifth time he's won when throwing the ball that much (5-11-1).
LeSean McCoy became the third different Eagle since 1960 with 100 rush yards and three touchdowns in a game, and the first since Charlie Garner in 1995.
DeSean Jackson had 135 receiving yards, including a 45-yard touchdown reception. He now has 11 touchdowns of at least 45 yards, that's the most in the NFL since 2008 -- one more than Titans' running back Chris Johnson.
In the loss, the Lions' Jahvid Best scored three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving). He now has five touchdowns this season -- that would have tied for the team lead in 2009.
Sunday's (Jahvid) Best:
• Five TD ties Billy Sims (1980) for the most touchdowns scored in the Lions first two games of a season.
• Fourth Lions rookie since 1960 with a rushing TD and receiving TD in the same game.
• Fourth first-year player since 1960 -- and the first since Marion Butts in 1989 -- to score multiple touchdowns in each of the first two games of the season.
• 232 yards from scrimmage are the fifth most by a Lion since 1960.
Jay Cutler had a 136.7 passer rating in the Chicago Bears' 27-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Cutler is now 17-0 in his career when his passer rating is at least 100.0. His passer rating was 143.8 on throws of 10 yards or less (18-for-21) and just 79.2 on passes of 11 yards or more (3-for-8).
The Pittsburgh Steelers' 19-11 win over the Tennessee Titans was just the third time in NFL history a game ended by that score.
The Miami Dolphins start a season by winning their first two games, both on the road, for the first time since 1977.
The Atlanta Falcons Matt Ryan is 11-0 at home against NFC opponents.
The Baltimore Ravens have yet to allow a touchdown in the first two games, but have just one win to show for it.
