• I wonder if Dayton Moore even thought about Brian Bannister's feelings when making the arrangements to acquire Yuniesky Betancourt. I would guess that he did not. I would also guess that Moore will never see Mike Fast's devastating take on one unhappy inning.

• Nice piece about Jack Smalling, who's probably done more to help autograph collectors (and interview seekers like me) than anyone alive.

• Peter Bjarkman's (admittedly) early verdict on Cuba prospect Aroldis Chapman: at this point he's a thrower, not a pitcher.

• What happens when Jeff Passan discovers the holy marriage of FanGraphs and PITCHf/x data? 25 things happen, that's what.

• Shysterball reviews the new Munson biography (which I bought last week but haven't yet cracked).

Shocking.

This is probably FNLMO (For Nerds Like Me Only), but I loved Tango's take on "replacement level" (even if he lost me for a bit, which isn't unusual).

• Your T-shirts of the Week.
