Today's links may bite just a little, but it's really their bark you should worry about ...

• The Marlins' new ballpark might wind up being a bit pretentious, and I think Art Deco would actually have been sorta cool. But I'm glad they're not doing cookie-cutter retro.

• I don't know about you, but I never really get tired of reading about Mariano Rivera.

• If Matt Holliday's performance this season tells us anything, it's that we can't blindly assume that a Rockie's road stats one year will an ex-Rockie's overall stats the next.

• I'm just glad to know that Arnold Hano is still kicking.

• John Henry wishes everyone would stop picking on Big Papi ... and you know, he seems to have a pretty good case (except what does he expect from a press that fawned over Ortiz more than he deserved; were those same writers going to be objective when something went wrong?).

• Joe Torre's more interesting than Billy Martin? Hrmmmmmm.

• After yet another lousy start, Joba Chamberlain's now got an 8.42 ERA in his last eight starts. And it might not even matter, because the Yankees might never need a legitimate fourth starter next month.

• Jonah Keri picks his favorite player ... and you might be surprised.
