Doug Martin making progress

October, 30, 2013
TAMPA, Fla. -- Fantasy football players with Doug Martin on your roster, it sounds like you probably should sit him Sunday against Seattle.

Martin already has missed one game with a shoulder injury and rookie Mike James is starting in his place. Martin did not participate in the portion of practice that was open to the media on Wednesday.

“Doug’s getting better,’’ coach Greg Schiano said. “I don’t know if it’s going to be for this week or not. But certainly he’s made a lot of progress.’’

Safeties Mark Barron (hamstring) and Dashon Goldson (knee) were limited in Wednesday’s practice and Schiano said he’s hopeful both will be able to play Sunday. Schiano also said there’s a chance guard Carl Nicks (MRSA) will be able to return to practice soon.

“We’re hoping so,’’ Schiano said. “But I can’t give you any more of a definitive answer right now.’’
