TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have turned to Green Bay to add some depth in their offensive backfield.

The Bucs signed rookie running back Michael Hill off the Packers’ practice squad to take the roster spot that opened when Mike James was placed on injured reserve. Hill likely will start off in a backup role behind Brian Leonard and Bobby Rainey.

Hill spent two games on Green Bay’s 53-man roster before being re-signed to the practice squad. He also opened the season on San Diego’s practice squad before being signed away by Green Bay.

Hill played at Missouri Western State, where he was the school’s all-time leading rusher with 4,969 yards.
