TAMPA, Fla. – Before you know it, we’re going to have our All-NFC South team.

I’m working on my nominations for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and will share my thoughts with you here. We’ll be doing a first and a second team.

Let’s start with the defense because that’s been the bright spot. I think linebacker Lavonte David, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and cornerback Darrelle Revis all have an excellent chance of making the first team. I’m also pushing hard for safety Mark Barron. If Barron doesn’t make the first team, I think he’ll be a strong candidate for the second team. Linebacker Mason Foster and safety Dashon Goldson also are guys I think may have a shot at the second team.

Now, let’s head over to the offense, where the list is much shorter. New Orleans and Carolina have been winning a lot of games, so they’ll probably dominate the first-team offense. But I think Bucs wide receiver Vincent Jackson has at least a shot at the first team. And I think veteran offensive linemen Donald Penn and Davin Joseph each have a shot at the second team.
