The Tampa Bay Chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America presented McCoy with its inaugural Good Guy Award.
The purpose of the award is to honor the player who is most helpful to the media in doing its job. Reporters who cover the team on a regular basis voted on the award and McCoy was an easy choice.
In a locker room where most of the players are accommodating, McCoy still stood out. He’s charismatic, honest and always accessible -- even after losses.
Jackson was selected as the Buccaneers Man of the Year. That automatically makes him a candidate for the league-wide Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. In addition to his on-field accomplishments, Jackson has dedicated his community outreach to supporting military families and children who spend significant time away from their parents.
"I've often said (Jackson) is the epitome of what we look for in a Buccaneer player,'' coach Greg Schiano said.
