The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed two fullbacks Tuesday.
Jorvorskie Lane and Josh Baker were signed as the Bucs made two moves at a position where they had been silent this offseason. Erik Lorig, last year’s starter, departed for New Orleans as a free agent.
Lane spent 2012 with Miami and Baker was with the New York Jets in 2011 and '12. The two likely will be competing for one roster spot.
The Bucs aren’t expected to make heavy use of the fullback position in coordinator Jeff Tedford’s offensive scheme. Instead, they’ll use more single-back sets with either three wide receivers or two tight ends.
