We continue our list of the top 15 Buccaneers with No. 9:
Dashon Goldson, free safety
What he did in 2013: In his first season with the Bucs, Goldson started 13 games. He produced 72 tackles, one forced fumble and one interception. Goldson didn’t have the full impact the Bucs were hoping for as he missed two games due to injury and another due to a suspension.
Why he’s No. 9 in 2014: Goldson has more talent than we really saw last season and he needs to stay on the field to show it. That means Goldson will have to avoid the illegal hits that earned him a suspension and multiple fines last year. There’s a fine line between playing smart and being too aggressive and Goldson has to master that. This is a player with Pro Bowl skills and the Bucs will be looking for a lot more from him this season.
