“He made a lot of plays,’’ coach Greg Schiano said. “One of them was a spectacular catch. Bracketed, he makes the catch. I’m glad we’re getting the tight end more involved. I think it makes you more complete. If you can do that, it makes teams defend all your eligibles.’’
Where did Wright come from? The same place as Schiano -- Rutgers. Wright, who came to camp as a wide receiver, ended up being converted to tight end.
“We had some tight ends go down,’’ Wright said. “I had to step up and do what I had to do. I had to use my ability, what I came here for and just go out there and execute my job.’’
Crabtree returned against Philadelphia. But it appears Wright has locked up a spot in the rotation.
