What I think they’re thinking in the headquarters of the Tennessee Titans this afternoon…
We’re pros and we’re going to act like pros over the final four weeks of the season. But it’s time to fess up and be honest. We’re lacking something. Whatever punch, whatever pizazz, whatever oomph puts a team over the top and lifts it from close losses into a winner, we don’t have it. Who’s to blame for that? I should look in the mirror and consider how well I am doing my part. But it’s natural to consider other stuff. This team was constructed to compete this year. Management told the fan base this was the year we’d make a jump. And here we are, with 9-7 a pipe dream that would require a miraculous four-game winning streak to end it. It’d be far more likely we’re under .500 again, and most of us should all be wondering about just how secure our jobs will be going forward.
