"He'll feel terrible after the show."
Those are the words of Alex Baze, one of The ESPY's joke writers, in reference to LeBron James. Hanging out in the super-secret writer's room of the Nokia Theatre, Baze said he, along with with SNL comedian and ESPY's host Seth Meyers and the writing staff, have come up with 400 or 500 jokes for the show, but will only use about 30 of them.
His favorite material so far?
"The LeBron stuff."
Of course! You know, I hope Meyers makes a joke about LeBron disappearing in the fourth quarter. Never heard one of those before.
Here's the behind the scenes look at The ESPY's, which will air Wednesday, July 13 at 9 pm ET.
