They say that if you watch the old NFL films and look on the sidelines you can see William Wesley on the sidelines of some big football games. For instance, "Eric" mentioned that William Wesley was on the sidelines of Miami Dolphins games.

(By the way, if anyone can produce some NFL footage involving William Wesley, I'd love it. Hopefully we'll have some photos soon to help identify him.)

To be honest, I just had no idea what to make of that, other than to say "wow." The guy obviously has an unbelievable ability to network.

Well, I have a guess as to how a guy from Camden might get the right introductions to wind up on the sidelines of a Miami Dolphins game.

William Wesley went to Pennsauken High School and played football there. 1984's Pennsauken team was identified by the Star-Ledger as one of the best in New Jersey history.
...South Jersey's Team of the Century. Two of the team's stars, linebacker/tight end David Griggs and lineman Greg Mark, went on to star in college and then played in the NFL. Griggs went to the University of Virginia and then the San Diego Chargers. Mark was an All-American defensive end at the University of Miami and played for the Philadelphia Eagles. Quarterback Jason Hicks also joined Mark at Miami.

I don't know when Wesley graduated, but he is three years older than Greg Mark according to the birthdates we have been able to find for both. It's not at all inconceivable that they could have known each other, and Mark went to on be a legend at the University of Miami and then an NFL player for, among others, the Dolphins. This is from Greg Mark's bio in the University of Miami's Sports Hall of Fame.
He was a 3rd round draft pick by the New York Giants in 1990, and also saw action with the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. Mark redshirted his first season at Miami in 1985 after coming to Coral Gables from New Jersey state champion Pennsauken High School.
Greg Mark was fired as the defensive line coach at the University of Miami in October. (Since then, there have been lots of firings on that staff.)
