After making the most of his 10 minutes of play on opening night, Golden State forward Anthony Randolph has been rewarded with a starting spot, according to a person close to the team.

The 6-10 Randolph, who had 8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block and 1 assist in Wednesday’s season-opening loss to the Houston Rockets, will start at power forward Friday at Phoenix, moving ahead of Wednesday’s starter Ronny Turiaf.

The Warriors refused to comment on the lineup change, saying no decision would be made until Friday morning.

Randolph, who butted heads with Nelson as a rookie last season, is one of the most tantalizing young talents in the league. Skilled enough to play everything from point guard to power forward, he averaged 7.9 points in 17.9 minutes a game last season, starting 21 of his 63 games.
