- Lots of trade rumors about Orlando, Denver, New York, and others. Here's one version that Orlando says is not true. Another version I heard involves Kenyon Martin. My bet: something fairly big will happen soon.
- More bad news for Sonics fans: Antonio Daniels is starting to look good in Washington.
- Something that occurs to me every so often: there is no chance that all of the 300+ NBA players are heterosexual. It must really be terrible to be in the NBA closet. Here's an NPR story about being in the NFL closet.
- Retiring at 25: Jonathan Bender's terribly sad, short career. Sports Law blog says, in effect, thank the heavens he didn't go to college, because his knee would still be messed up, and he would be out several millions. Now he can still go to college, or do whatever else he wants. I hope his story turns out happy.
- Celtics Blog: "Someone from the pool of Greene, Gomes, and Green is going to have to step up."
- SuperSonicSoul to team owner Howard Schultz (who wants taxpayer dollars for a stadium): "Face it, Howard, you have made your mess and now you must lie in it. I for one am not interested in subsidizing his team's idiocy."
- An NBA video game that incorporates being "in the zone."
- Noise about Theo Ratliff going to the Knicks, possibly with Ruben Patterson, in exchange for David Lee and Penny Hardaway.
- A Cleveland fan grabbed the microphone at the press conference where Larry Hughes and Donyell Marshall were introduced, and said "guys seem to come here and forget how to shoot." Months later there's evidence he's right.
- Rick Fox sighting at a Playboy party.
- When will Shaquille O'Neal stop being mediocre?
- If I never see the Rolling Stones perform again, that'll be OK.
