- I'm now confident my prayer will be granted.
- Now, coach Popovich, can we finally admit that Manu Ginobili's injury has affected the outcome of a game?
- If a team's entire offense is busted, and that team happens to have a lightning quick point guard known for getting in the lane and making stuff happen, you have to send some blame to the Frenchman. That sentence makes perfect sense to all NBA fans, and is complete gibberish to everyone else.
- I know it's important for the Pistons to look tough all the time, but Chauncey Billups crossed a line in the third quarter. He put an airborne Devin Brown back-first into the basket support. After a foul like that, you help the guy up. You don't stand over him and slap fives.
- Tim Duncan, meet crisis of confidence.
- Important point I intend to make to my wife when she wakes up in the morning: Ben Wallace may turn out to be the MVP of this NBA finals, yet when it comes to dribbling, shooting, and passing I am significantly more gifted than he is.
- Tivo's slow-motion makes NBA refs seem inept. Remember when the camera lingered on Tim Duncan fouling Rasheed Wallace as he nailed a tip-in? That play was 99% foul and 1% basketball.
- Was Robert Horry at the game tonight?
- Al Michaels and Hubie Brown grotesquely thumbed their noses at the truth. They summed up the Larry Brown story by saying that he is a guy with some health problems who has said he hopes the doctors will let him honor his contract with Detroit. (They make it seem like the whole story was mad hype.) Missing fact: Larry Brown admits he has talked to Cleveland about another job.
- That Budweiser commercial I've seen a million times says "we know of no brand produced by any other brewer that costs so much to brew and age." To which I say this: I'm just guessing that ain't per beer, right? (If it's not per beer, then it really only proves you brew on massive freaking scale--a point that doesn't belong in this commercial which is allegedly striclty about beer quality.)
- Did anyone else catch Al Michaels saying that San Antonio's 12th year benchwarmer Tony Massenburg played in San Antonio when Larry Brown coached there? Check out what has happened in between. He gets around almost as much as Larry does.
