Ronny Turiaf's Welcome to the NBA Moment
February, 16, 2006
In his third game back, and playing just his eighth and ninth minutes of NBA action, Ronny Turiaf gets tossed around a bit by Zaza Pachulia, and gets to bask in the adoration of a crowd that loves a guy who's only a few months removed from major heart surgery. Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times reports:
...for once, the crowd chanted a name other than Bryant's, rookie Ronny Turiaf receiving short-lived recognition after getting hauled down under the basket by Zaza Pachulia with 1.4 seconds left in the third quarter. Pachulia was called for a flagrant foul and Turiaf made both free throws, his first points as a Laker providing an 84-83 Laker lead.
