- Do the Mavericks owe Michael Finley a job for old times' sake?
- One of the best periods of Suns basketball this season comes with Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire on the bench.
- Michael Ozanian on Forbes.com: "... it is the owners who are at fault because most of the teams running big losses produce a lousy product. The Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Bobcats, Memphis Grizzlies, New Jersey Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves are disasters on the hardwood. Why should their owners be making money?"
- Today's the 48th anniversary of Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game, which is the perfect time to point out the ongoing campaign to get him on a U.S. stamp. And as long as we're talking about Philadelphia heroes, consider Michael Tillery's Starting Five ode to Julius Erving: "When Dad picked my sister and I up to go into the city, I couldn’t wait to ask: 'A basketball player with a PhD? Really? Doctor who?' I said. 'Dr. J, son, he lives right over there next to your grandmother,' Pop said, pointing to a stretch of nice homes in close proximity to Philadelphia International Airport where my Mom’s Mom lived. 'What team does he play for Dad?' I asked. 'He used to play for the New Jersey Nets in the ABA, but the league folded so he’ll play here next year,' Pop explained. 'Gaaa Lee!' 'Son, don’t say that.' 'Ok, Dad.' I couldn’t wait to see this guy."

- One of the funniest moments I've seen during an NBA broadcast came last night when Rockets broadcaster Bill Worrell confused two Raptors. Getting Sonny Weems and Antoine Wright tangled in your mind is an innocent enough mistake, but it can appear to be a bit of a race-discussion hot-button: Mixing up those names can feed the idea that to white people, all black people look alike. Worrell's partner, Clyde Drexler, however, cracked up when Worrell mixed them up halfway through the second quarter. Through the laughter, Drexler gave Worrell some thoughtful cover, telling viewers those two players "really do look alike."
- Niall Doherty of Hornets247: "Julian Wright vs. Manu Ginobili. One guy is a savvy veteran, and the other is something else entirely. I'll die happy if I never see that matchup again."
- I'm a day late to this, but you really do have to see this video breaking down how Kobe Bryant and the Lakers changed their offensive strategy against the Nuggets, to great effect.
- The worst moments of the Bobcats' night against the Mavericks.
- The Bulls are all banged up at just the wrong time of the year.
- No team gets their power forwards outperformed like the Nets do.
- Nicolas Batum came close to setting a Blazer record for points in a quarter without having a single play called for him. He also may well be Portland's best defender, who had a key crunch time open court block of an O.J. Mayo layup.
- On average, tall people make more money than the rest of us, even away from the basketball court. But, according the tall author of a book on tall people, we get our revenge in being able to buy clothes that fit.
- Using numbers to show a ton of stuff, including that Dwight Howard, Chuck Hayes and Kyle Lowry are very effective NBA players.
- An amazing little documentary about one of the most exciting tournaments in Europe.
- Tyler Hansbrough's rookie year could be over already.
- Battle of the big, strong guards. Tyreke Evans vs. Deron Williams.
