- Big ratings last night.
- Pat Riley knows motorcycle accidents.
- Jonathan Givony really has an embarassment of riches here. He has busted the hottest story in sports (Redick's back) and has all kinds of other talk--a plausible Garnett trade scenario, talk of a Shelden Williams guarantee, and a lot more. He even has word of the Pistons' next Darko Milicic. No kidding.
- Dwyane Wade injured but will play. I just hope he's the same kind of injured he was during last night's fourth quarter.
- How's J.J. Redick's draft stock right now? Chad Ford is in Italy with some GM's who mostly think all this isn't a huge deal. But there are pie in the sky scenarios to consider: "I think the team most likely to take him is the Houston Rockets at No. 8. I don't think the incident will be a major issue for Houston. I think it could affect his status with two other teams that love him: the Jazz (No. 14) and the Orlando Magic (No. 11). Both owners are conservative and have made character an issue in the past. If he slips past those two teams, the fall could be hard. The Indiana Pacers at No. 17 are a possibility, or he could slide all the way to No. 25 to the Cavs."
- Does Shaquille O'Neal regret all those things he said about Erick Dampier? He was asked.
- Dirk Nowitzki did not sleep well.
- Dan Le Batard's article is great: "The difference between being down 3-0 and 2-1 in a best-of-seven series? It is only the difference between a gathering at a party and a gathering at a morgue, the difference between a limousine and a hearse."
- MVP of the Heat so far this series? A vote for Udonis Haslem.
- Ira Winderman: "Both Gary Payton and Antoine Walker noted at Wednesday's practice how the Heat has yet to play its best game of the series. While some credit goes to Dallas for its pesky defense, the Heat certainly appears capable of the needed 100-point game against the Mavericks. More from O'Neal certainly would be welcomed, but, by now, the center's inability to create shots is becoming a trend. Instead, the Heat has to clean up its game, lift its percentage at the foul line and reduce the turnovers. With a simple, focused approach, 2-2 is possible."
- Bad things come in threes they say. It's certainly true for J.J. Redick's PR. The arrest, the back injury stories, and now this.
