I just got off the phone with a friend of Wesley's. Among the things he told me was a great little anecdote about hanging out at Wes's Chicago condo when Allen Iverson called. It must have been the summer of 2000, when Iverson and Larry Brown were squabbling all the time in the press, and there was talk of Iverson wanting to be traded.

Wesley put Iverson on speakerphone, and, as recounted by the friend (he asks me to call him "Damien" and I don't know his real name) this is what Wesley said:
I don't want to hear this shit, Al. Get your ass to practice, and get your ass to practice on time.
Of course, the following season Iverson and Brown patched things up at least somewhat, and made the NBA Finals together.
