I have seen that claim applied several different players in this draft. From Hassan Adams to Guillermo Diaz, there are at least a half dozen players who some expert or another has called the most athletic in the draft. As a measure of how meaningless it is, I present the following:

- Milwaukee GM Larry Harris in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: "We really feel like we've got the best athlete in the draft."
- LSU coach John Brady in The Daily Advertiser: "The Chicago Bulls told me Tyrus is the most athletic player in the draft without question."
- Steve Kyler of Hoopsworld: "Rudy Gay recently described Tyrus as the most athletic player he’s seen, at least two scouts call him the most athletic player in the draft class this year."
- Memphis Tigers website: "Quite possibly the nation's most athletic player and most electrifying dunker."
- Marty Blake on NBA.com: "Philadelphia gets one of the best athletes in the draft in Carney."
- Bob Baum of the Associated Press: " Carney, who played all four seasons at Memphis, might be the most athletic player in the draft."
- Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress: "On physical appearances alone, he is certainly one of the most impressive players in this draft, if not the most impressive. Once he starts bouncing around the floor and getting up to punish the rim, that impression only increases."
