Yes, the Kings made a pro-forma offer to Wells for more than he'll make in Houston. But that offer was firmly rescinded when John Salmons came available. That left Wells with a fired agent, and some capped out suitors that couldn't pay afford to pay him much at all (Denver, Miami, and some others). There were rumors of interest from Charlotte, which has cap room. But did Wells realy have big dollar offers from anywhere? It's possible--a lot of those things happen behind closed doors--but I haven't seen evidence that he has...
