- Told you so! Dwyane Wade is delaying surgery and will mount a comeback attempt.
- A ranking of the best GMs in all major league North American sports. RC Buford, widely seen as a genius, ranks 32nd. Kevin McHale, widely seen as due to be fired soon, ranks first. Overall. Seriously. (Thanks Damir.) A Timberwolf player is quoted in response asking #1 Best or #1 Worst?
- Look, here I am I talking about blogging and bathing in expensive liqueurs.
- The How Bad Was Las Vegas? discussion is taking on a life of its own, but suffice it to say that if you are interested in following it, the list of must-reads has grown in recent days to include Scoop Jackson's take, Bill Simmons' retort, and David Aldridge's column. I could comment at length on all three, but I'm starting to feel like it's time to agree to disagree and move on.
- Two hottest teams in the East: Philadelphia and Boston, with matching four-game winning streaks. Probably more of a comment on the East than anything...
- Orlando's point guards, Jameer Nelson and Carlos Arroyo, split 48 minutes between them in a Saturday loss to Dallas, and managed a combined zero assists.
- Lindell's Gospel: "Black NBA athletes, as a matter of responsibility and choice, should be at the leading edge of discussions on matters of dignity and respect—without regard to race, ethnicity, gender or sexual choices. NBA players possess a ‘bully pulpit’ that remains hauntingly empty."
- Allen Iverson wants to retire a Nugget. He used to always say he wanted to retire a Sixer, until he changed his mind and decided it would be better to go elsewhere. Also, a look at how his trade to Denver is panning out.
- Poor Isiah Thomas has to face the media to explain why Steve Francis suddenly doesn't look all that injured. Howard Beck reports: "Thomas, who has a gift for explaining the inexplicable, neatly summed up Steve Francis’ energetic 26-point game Saturday — a performance that came days after Francis said he could no longer play on a sore right knee. 'You never can measure what adrenaline does inside your body,' Thomas said. 'Once the game gets started and people are in the stands, players have a way of injecting that adrenaline; it starts flowing, and people find themselves doing things that they didn’t think they could do.'" The only problem with that theory is that Francis did think he could do it, saying just the other day that he's not a bum, he can still play, and he might be able to play at 100%.
- NSFW due to language, which is appropriate, as it's frank talk about how Jerry Sloan talked to John Amaechi.
- There are questions we probably should not ask, because we'll never get a wholly satisfactory answer. For instance, is there a heaven? What's the idea behind the the silent "k" in words like "knife?" And, why does Kobe Bryant's wife dress this way?
- Winning is a by-product of doing things the right way. A discussion of Avery Johnson.
- An interesting discussion of fast-breaking vs. being patient on offense, and how that affects offensive efficiency. Via Forum Blue & Gold.
- If the Celtics get the top pick, Jeff from CelticsBlog wants no part of that Kevin Durant. He's Greg Oden all the way.
- Brian Windhorst delivers invaluable insight into LeBron James, whom Windhorst says does take criticism in the media seriously. He also suggest Jim Paxson may be a candidate for Portland's GM job.

- Rasheed Wallace reportedly booted from the bench for his taste in clothing.
- I'm late to this, but it's interesting nonetheless: one measure by which Steve Patterson was not good for the Blazers' bottom line.
- Chauncey Billups is making quiet noises about playing for Memphis, which probably means he wants a lot of money from Detroit.
- The Tyrus Thomas sequence you have to see. Rasual Butler was never going to get that call.
- Tom Ziller wants you to think long and hard about voting for anyone besides Kevin Martin for Most Improved Player.
- UPDATE: Remember ages ago I made a cameo with Team Hollywood? I almost made a second appearance a couple of weeks ago, but my flight to Vegas was delayed. Here's some video of one of their games in Las Vegas that I missed. Below that are photos from when I did play with them in Pennsylvania. Somehow they forgot to include the photos of my array of incredible dunks.
