Report: Sam Mitchell Has a New Contract

Doug Smith of the Toronto Star says the coach of the year is staying in Toronto.

The 43-year-old head coach has agreed to terms on a new contract with the official announcement on the multi-year deal due to come Tuesday afternoon.

Mitchell and Raptor president and general manager Bryan Colangelo have finalized a deal for three seasons with an option for a fourth, according to sources.

The base salary is $4 million (figures U.S.) a season with various bonuses that will kick in if Toronto's playoff results improve.
