- Why are Warrior fans so fed up with Joe Lacob? Threatening to take the team to San Francisco, boasting but not backing it up, making some silly moves ...
- Been messing with NBA.com's new secret stats tool. There's a way to say this with numbers and everything, but cutting to the chase: Derrick Rose shoots much more efficiently when rested, and his shooting efficiency is a major factor determining whether or not the Bulls win. Also interesting: He shoots quite a lot on short rest, which reminds that I have heard David Thorpe say many times that the easiest play to make is taking a bad shot. Anything else is more work.
- Kevin Garnett denies the existence of any Jeff Teague.
- J.J. Hickson says things were bad from the start with the Kings (although he liked his teammates) and admits he is particularly interested in the Warriors and Suns.
- Too out of shape to play: Andray Blatche.
- A delightfully trippy map of NBA field goal percentage this season from different spots on the floor. At the rim, percentages are high, but just a step or two away, they plummet mightily.

- About nine minutes in is one of the most powerfully "dungeons and dragons" moments in NBA history.
- A very smart take on how "The Hunger Games" can teach us about small ball lineups that rebound well.
- Comedian Mike Birbiglia on SXSW: "The strange thing about 'South by Southwest' is that there are just too many bands. There are literally twenty four HUNDRED. You’ll be walking down the street and there’s a band playing next to another band. This morning I woke up to find a band playing in the mini fridge in my hotel. And that was a good slot! They were psyched to be there. The lead singer thanked me for coming out, and handed me a $9 Fresca."
- The book on JaVale McGee.
- Rob Mahoney of The Two Man Game on the Nuggets' rotation: "It seems as though Rudy Fernandez (nine minutes, seemingly due to Gallinari and Miller’s injuries) and Chris Andersen (DNP-CD, even with McGee not playing a minute) may be the odd men out of the rotation in Denver. The additions of Wilson Chandler and McGee, coupled with the emergence of Faried, was going to throw some player or another for a loop; George Karl seems to have made the right choices (though one could certainly argue that Andersen deserves playing time over Timofey Mozgov or Kosta Koufos), but it’s a tough break nonetheless considering how important both of those players had been to the Nuggets’ earlier success."

- I doubt the Magic front office will show Dwight Howard these graphs.
- The Thunder really miss Eric Maynor.
- Who will explain the difference between daylight savings in Washington D.C. and the Czech Republic? Jan Vesely will.
- The Bulls are living a dream, in many ways. Since Tom Thibodeau arrived, they almost never lose.
