For a hot second there it was reported that Devean George had a no-trade clause in his contract.
Not so.
As has since been made clear, George was able to withdraw himself from the Jason Kidd trade due to a provision in the collective bargaining agreement that applies to players who sign one-year contracts and are eligible for the "Early Bird Exception" or "Full Bird Exception" starting July 1.
It's not something that has come up very often, but it could come up again. Here, courtesy of ESPN, are the other NBA players that fall under the same provision as George, and have the option to refuse to be part of a trade before Thursday's deadline.
