Story Time is a new fixture of TrueHoop TV. We are used to having interesting basketball people offer opinions and insight. This is their chance to simply tell a good story.

Thrilled to kick off the series with the great Tamika Catchings of the Indiana Fever. Catchings is the daughter of an NBA player, a champion, an MVP and a three-time Olympic gold medalist -- it can be easy to assume she has always had it easy. But it's simply not so. She was born with trouble hearing and speaking. Those contributed to the kinds of social issues that had her crying her way home from school every day.

So, as a second-grader, she took matters into her own hands. Thanks to decades of tenacity, it has worked out.video
