Kobe Bryant's Second Child
Howard Beck writes in The New York Times.
Just 10½ hours after pulling up for the shot over Raja Bell and Boris Diaw, Bryant was in a delivery room as his wife Vanessa gave birth to their second daughter. Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant was born at 2:03 a.m.
Bryant stayed home from practice but was expected to join the Lakers in time for Tuesday's shoot-around.
"After a game like he had yesterday, I told his people, 'I'm surprised he didn't name his child 'Victoria,' because this had to be one special day for his kid," Coach Phil Jackson said at the team's practice facility in El Segundo. "I'm sure it's not easy to sleep after all those things happen."
