LaMarcus Aldridge Out Indefinitely

The Oregonian's Jason Quick reports:

However, Aldridge was held out of practice Monday as he underwent a precautionary, 24-hour period in which his heart was being monitored by a machine. Aldridge left Saturday's game against the Clippers after he suffered from a rapid heart beat. After being sent to a hospital, it was ruled that Aldridge suffered from dehydration.

The tests will monitor Aldridge's heart beat and make sure there isn't anything abnormal going on. But coach Nate McMillan said he is confident everything is fine and that Aldridge will be ready to play Wednesday. McMillan noted that a rapid heartbeat is not uncommon with professional athletes - he said it happened to him once during his playing days - and it is usually caused by diet, or lack of sleep issues.

Aldridge was at Monday's practice, but he was gone by the time the media was allowed onto the practice court.

However, the Blazers tell me, and others are reporting, that Aldridge will be out indefinitely as doctors do a little more research. Scary news for LaMarcus Aldridge.
