Washington Redskins: Randy Jordan
Former Redskins running back, and coach, Earnest Byner, had interviewed for the position. But the Redskins opted for Jordan. He played for the Oakland Raiders and then coached one year for them when current Redskins general manager Bruce Allen worked for the organization. Jordan was a special-teams captain on the 2002 Raiders team that reached the Super Bowl.
Jordan has coached in college since leaving the Raiders after the 2003 season. He spent four years at the University of Nebraska followed by five years at Texas A&M. He spent the past two years at his alma mater, North Carolina.
That's the last position coach Jay Gruden needed to hire. Offensive coordinator Sean McVay said he will coach the quarterbacks.
