The longest hitting streak of the MLB season is in serious jeopardy. Jackie Bradley Jr. is 0-for-4 after an 8th inning groundout against Colorado's Jon Gray, and the Red Sox will need several men to reach base if he's going to get another shot in the 9th.

Jackie Bradley Jr. crushes a Jon Gray pitch to dead center field, but Charlie Blackmon catches it at the fence about 400 feet from home plate. It takes luck to keep a hitting streak alive, and Bradley's hasn't been good tonight. Two long flyouts in his first three at-bats.

Jackie Bradley Jr. grounds out on a soft comebacker to Jon Gray in his second at bat. Bradley has seen a total of four pitches in his first two plate appearances tonight. He got a curveball and a changeup in his second AB.

Jackie Bradley Jr. flies out to right field warning track in his first at bat against Rockies Jon Gray. Put a good swing on it, but got under it just a tad.

Jackie Bradley Jr., riding a 29-game hitting streak, will bat leadoff for the Red Sox tonight against Colorado as manager John Farrell gives Mookie Betts a planned day off. Betts will return to the No. 1 spot and Bradley will move back down in the order when the Red Sox begin a three-game series Friday night in Toronto.

Boston could stand to upgrade both its starting rotation and left-field situation, which is why Jim Bowden sees the Sox as the best match for the Braves' Julio Teheran and Rockies' Carlos Gonzalez. Top trade candidates, best fits (Insider)

QB reps as expected: Tom Brady mostly first, then Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett. One exception came late in practice during 11-on-11 work. Practice runs smooth with 3 QBs who can rip it. Nice work for all 3.

How serious does Bill Belichick take OTAs? He was furious and verbally laid into some players for not following practice script early on. They forgot part of stretching.
