Mitchell is coolest story of the draft

Whether or not the Patriots' fourth-round pick, WR Malcolm Mitchell, makes their NFL roster remains to be seen. But while he was at Georgia, he overcame his problems with reading to write and self-publish a book. Ten draft takeaways

The official Twitter account of Florida Atlantic football congratulated CB Cre'von LeBlanc on signing with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent. LeBlanc is 5-foot-9, 194 pounds, and also has experience as a kickoff returner. The deal for LeBlanc includes $17,500 in guaranteed money, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

The Patriots didn't select a running back in the draft, but have made plans to look at Duke's Shaquille Powell on a tryout basis at minicamp. The 5-foot-10, 205-pound Powell only fumbled once in his college career. Last season, he had 125 carries for 542 yards and 3 TDs, as well as 33 catches for 212 yards and 2 TDs.
