Report: Red Sox reach deal with David Price

According to the Boston Globe, the Red Sox agreed to a seven-year, $217 million contract with the 30-year-old left-hander. Price, a five-time All-Star, went 18-5 with a 2.45 ERA last season with the Tigers and Blue Jays.

In an unusual twist, the Patriots and Rob Gronkowski released the following statement Tuesday regarding Gronkowski's right knee: "During Sunday nights game, Rob Gronkowski sustained a bone bruise/sprain of his right knee. His status will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis and listed accordingly on the practice participation and injury reports. There is no timetable for his readiness to return, which will be determined in the days or hours prior to the appropriate game. Any timetable reported prior to that final determination would be speculative.
