QB reps as expected: Tom Brady mostly first, then Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett. One exception came late in practice during 11-on-11 work. Practice runs smooth with 3 QBs who can rip it. Nice work for all 3.

JBJ's hit streak among least probable

Jackie Bradley Jr. hit .249 last season, but this year has been a different story. The outfielder's 29-game hitting streak ties Roger Peckinpaugh for the longest in the modern era (since 1900) after hitting below .250 in the season prior, per Elias Sports Bureau.

  • 1919: Roger Peckinpaugh, 29
  • 2000: Gabe Kapler, 28

Don't forget about Xander Bogaerts

While Jackie Bradley Jr. has been getting all the attention with his 29-game hitting streak, Bogaerts has put together a solid streak of his own. The shortstop has hit in 18 straight games, the second-longest streak in the majors behind JBJ, ESPN Stats & Info notes.

During the 1986 Red Sox reunion at Fenway Park, the intrepid Jonny Miller of WBZ asked Roger Clemens if he ever thinks about making the Hall of Fame. "I'm so past that, Jonny," Clemens replied good-naturedly. "But thanks for asking."

JBJ igniting Red Sox's offense

As Jackie Bradley Jr. goes, so does the rest of Boston's lineup. The Sox have averaged an MLB-best 6.6 runs per game during Bradley's 29-game hitting streak and have the best record in baseball over that time as a result.
